Jubilations Dinner Theatre
Is so much fun

So many years ago, back in 1987, my mom proposed the idea of going to the local dinner theatre for Christmas dinner. I had no idea what to expect but was happy to get dressed up in something fancy for the evening.
That year we saw Little Shop of Horrors and it was fabulous. I’d seen the movie and absolutely loved it. I was thrilled that the theatre put on a production that was faithful to the story but had its own twists and turns as well.
Fast forward a bunch of years to 2003. A friend of mine had discount tickets to Jubilations Dinner Theatre in West Edmonton Mall featuring a production of Seinfeld.
Now, to be clear here, I didn’t really like the show Seinfeld. It was okay, I watched early episodes, but was never really hooked on it. I remembered how much fun I had at Mayfield Dinner Theatre some 16 years before and agreed to go.
I was surprised at how much fun it was. The story was close enough to the TV show to be faithful but original enough that I got lost in the fun.
So when my husband’s work chose Jubilations as their Christmas/end of year party my ears perked up. Then he told me the play, Heartbreak Hotel, would be based on Elvis songs. Again, I’m not really a fan of Elvis. I respect his music and the impact he had on the industry and fans, but I…
